These terms govern the licence to use the VERIDICA software (browser extension) and related services (course, support) supplied by Nova Forensics, Via dei Gladioli 26, 09045 Quartu Sant’Elena (CA), Italy, VAT IT03892050927 (“Supplier”). Placing an order or accepting a quote implies acceptance; any specific terms agreed in writing prevail. The Italian version is the authoritative text.
1. Licence
The Supplier grants a non-exclusive, non-transferable, time-limited licence for the configuration (Base, Professional, Law Enforcement, add-on modules, On-Demand) and number of seats stated in the quote. The software remains the Supplier’s property; VERIDICA® is the Supplier’s trademark. Decompiling, modifying, assigning, sub-licensing, renting or circumventing the licensing mechanism is not permitted, except as mandatorily allowed by law.
2. Trial
The extension includes a free evaluation trial (10 acquisitions within 30 days). Trial outputs carry a “TRIAL VERSION” watermark. The trial is provided as is, without guaranteed support.
3. Activation, term and renewal
Licences are annual per seat, start when the key is delivered and are bound to the installation indicated by the Customer. Renewal is not automatic. Key replacement for reinstallation or seat change is free within reasonable limits. On-Demand licences last 72 hours from activation.
4. Fees and payment
Prices are those in the quote, net of VAT where applicable, payable by bank transfer or other means stated in the quote. The key is delivered upon payment or, for public bodies, according to their procurement rules. Law Enforcement pricing is reserved to police forces, judiciary and public investigative offices, subject to verification.
5. Updates and support
During the licence term the Customer receives updates through Microsoft Edge Add-ons and Chrome Web Store and e-mail support on business days.
6. Lawful use
VERIDICA only captures what the user sees with their own session and does not bypass protection measures. The Customer is solely responsible for the lawfulness of acquisitions (legal basis to access accounts and conversations, data-protection law, secrecy of correspondence, platform terms), for the custody of the files produced, which remain only on the Customer’s systems, and for their use in proceedings. The Customer acts as independent controller of any personal data in the acquisitions; the Supplier has no access to them.
7. Warranty and liability
The software substantially conforms to its documentation. It depends on third-party platforms that may change without notice; the Supplier does not guarantee that a given acquisition is always possible, nor the evidential weight a court gives to the outputs. Reports always state the method and what could not be acquired. Except for wilful misconduct or gross negligence and mandatory consumer rights, the Supplier’s total liability is limited to the fees paid in the 12 months before the event.
8. Course and certificate
The VERIDICA Academy certificate attests completion of the course and passing of the final test; it is not a professional qualification or an accredited third-party certification.
9. Consumers
The product is intended mainly for professionals and organisations. Where the Customer is a consumer, mandatory consumer law applies; the 14-day withdrawal right does not apply to digital content once performance has begun with the consumer’s express consent and acknowledgment of losing that right.
10. Governing law
Italian law applies. For business customers the Court of Cagliari has exclusive jurisdiction; for consumers, the court of their residence.
